Econata is a combination of two Latin root words: "eco" meaning earth; and "nata" meaning nativity or "birth."  So Econata literally means "earth born."

This name reflects the company's basis: environmental consulting that is well-grounded in science. 

Econata provides its clients with consulting services that result in solutions for: sustainability and environmental health and safety systems development and enhancement; Corporate Sustainability Reporting; environmental permitting; systems and compliance auditing; product stewardship; and renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Jim Schrack, Econata's Principal, has worked for over thirty-two years in the mining, petrochemical, private consulting, non-profit and state and local government sectors.  This experience spans assignments in coal and hard-rock mining, Superfund and RCRA site cleanups; and operations that include aluminum rolling, grain storage, retail business, on-shore and off-shore oil and gas production; chemical manufacturing; chemical and petroleum products pipelines; and petroleum products distribution systems.  Mr. Schrack has worked from the field to the corporate staff levels; and in municipal planning and executive-agency state government.

Leadership is the glue that binds this diversity of experience together at Econata.  Influencing others, creating the right teams, and shepherding the work flows are the skills that Econata uses to provide results for its clients.  From creating executive orders at the state level, to convincing city council members to engage in solar energy projects and adopting energy efficient construction requirements for city-owned buildings, to talking to retail customers about the benefits of product stewardship, Econata's principal has developed leadership skills applicable to a multitude of client needs.
